At the beginning of September the exhibit Here, There, and Everywhere landed in Memphis starting a more than 2 year tour across the US. The exhibit is being hosted at the Goodwyn Gallery of the Memphis Public Library until September 30th. The timing is perfect as students begin the new school year. They can visit the gallery to learn about all types of physical phenomenon and how it relates to our everyday lives on Earth, but also at larger, universal scales.
It was fun unpacking the exhibit for the first time. Bill Wilson of the Memphis Astronomical Society and I walked into the library together for the first time since we last set up an exhibit. Nearly three years ago Memphis hosted From Earth to the Universe (FETTU) to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy 2009. Having the Memphis Public Library host the FETTU exhibit helped made it a successful project. The library has perhaps 30,000 visitors each month providing huge exposure to the many differnt exhibits it hosts. We hope to take advantage of this by grabbing people's attention as they visit the library.
For those in Memphis, please take a few minutes to swing by the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library to visit Here, There, and Everywhere. Read more on the exhibit's first stop on the library's web site: http://www.memphislibrary.org/whatsnew/NASA_exhibit
